Think tanks and civil society organisations are essential to advancing democratic governance, sustainable development, and inclusive policymaking in Africa. They produce evidence-based research, drive social transformation, and engage key stakeholders across policy fields to strengthen governance, social accountability, and regional cooperation.
However, limited institutional leadership and management capacity, shifting donor priorities, unstable political environments, and a shrinking civic space are making it increasingly difficult for these organisations to operate effectively.
In response to this, the Nkafu Policy Institute is organising the 2026 Executive & Strategic Leadership Program (ESLP) under the theme “Managing Think Tanks and Civil Society Organisations.”
