In the new era of feminist foreign policies, advances must be made in how to integrate gender dynamics into think tanks. In this webinar, Josephine Tsui who has supported researchers and think tanks will chair a discussion on how think tank leaders can increase the quality of their research by being proactive in understanding the gendered dynamics within research organisations.

Josephine Tsui will discuss contemporary gender issues regarding think tanks. This includes: the gender pipeline (leadership and power), considering gender throughout the research cycle, the gendered data value chain, and the gendered political economy of knowledge.

Josephine Tsui has supported researchers and think tanks as a research associate for the Overseas Development Institute. Her specialty is in monitoring policy influence, evidence informed policy, and has worked as a gender practitioner for over thirteen years. Her publications include “policy and programmatic impact of gender-focussed research” and “the effectiveness of measuring influence”.

In the past, Josephine has worked with DFID on policy and programmatic impacts on specific research topics including intimate partner violence, intra-household bargaining, gender in fragile and conflict affected states. She has also worked with  governments understanding the gendered impacts of their policies.
