Fundraising remains a challenge for most organisations, and the need to explore innovative ways to remain sustainable and competitive is increasingly becoming imperative. This webinar offers the opportunity to learn about a unique fundraising strategy developed by the team of Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA), an economic think tank based in Abuja, Nigeria.

The need for an innovative strategy was prompted by the reality faced by CSEA: as a beneficiary a 10 year Think Thank Initiative grant, which would end in 2019, it was imperative for the Centre to reflect on its fundraising experience, and creatively design a fundraising approach that would ensure its financial sustainability beyond 2019.

In this webinar organised in partnership with ILAIPP, the Latin American think tank network, Dr. Chukwuka Onyekwena, Executive Director of the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa, will present the strategy and discuss with a panel and the audience how it has been put into practice.

The programme:

  • Dr. Chukwuka Onyekwena will present the strategy (and the prioritising tool it uses) providing an example of how it has been implemented by CSEA.
  • Julie Lafrance, Senior Program Specialist at the Think Tank Initiative, will follow by asking further questions regarding its design and practical application.
  • Jorge Henriquez, Administrator and Projects Manager, FOSDEH. (TBC) will follow by addressing how this approach may be applied to a Latin American think tank.

Those joining the webinar will then have a chance to ask questions to the panel.
