The Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) is looking for a finance assistant to join its busy operations team and deliver a professional and effective finance service to the organisation. Responsibilities

The postholder will be responsible for a wide range of finance duties. He or she will report to the senior finance officer and work closely with other members of the team to ensure the effective delivery and management of IPPR’s income and expenditure. The role will also involve working closely with the head of HR on a range of payroll duties to ensure the monthly payroll is processed accurately and efficiently.

  • Proven experience working in finance at an assistant or administrative level and/or relevant training or qualifications in finance or accountancy.
  • Strong numeracy skills, a meticulous attention to detail, and a high level of accuracy.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and use your initiative to manage a busy and varied workload.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining administrative systems, and an appreciation for the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to enable you to manage internal and external relationships with tact and diplomacy.
  • Willingness to work in a team.

Salary: £25,091 per annum pro-rata plus benefits
Condition: Permanent, part-time, working 3 days a week (22.5 hours) plus a maximum of 10 days’ study leave per year (pro-rata for part-time staff) and flexible working possible.
