The team is expanding to meet increasing demand for policy-relevant research on the nexus between political and economic issues as the US approaches a new presidential administration. The Programme’s Geo-economics Research Fellow will develop the team’s existing work and help develop new projects looking at how trade, fiscal policy and other relevant economic issues will impact America’s role in the world in the years to come.
Chatham House is seeking a Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow in the US Project to work on issues around US geo-economics.
Requirements
Chatham House is looking for a strategic thinker who is highly motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a small team. The successful candidate is likely to have:
- Excellent and demonstrable writing and communication skills
- Proven professional interest in the geo-economic strategy and the positioning of the US
- A post-graduate degree in economics, international political economy or related disciplines (PhD preferred)
- At least five years’ experience on economics issues gained either from an academic or relevant professional background
The following would also be advantageous:
- Some fundraising experience including in negotiating, writing, project managing and marketing proposals
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
