The independent grassroots think-tank foraus develops scientifically grounded discussions on Swiss foreign policy. The more than 1,000 foraus members work in thematic programmes to analyse foreign policy challenges and to stimulate informed dialogue with constructive proposals for solutions. foraus was founded in Bern in 2009 and is active throughout Switzerland in all university cities.
The position
Als Geschäftsführerin oder Geschäftsführer bist du für die fachliche, personelle, organisatorische und betriebswirtschaftliche Führung des Think Tanks foraus verantwortlich. Zusammen mit dem Vorstand entwickelst du foraus strategisch weiter. Du bist die Ansprechperson für unsere Partner in der Politik, Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und Stiftungslandschaft. Diese Kontakte nutzt du, um die Inhalte von foraus optimal zu platzieren und das Fundraising von foraus erfolgreich voranzutreiben. Dabei unterstützen dich 4-6 MitarbeiterInnen sowie PraktikantInnen in Zürich und Genf. Es ist deine Aufgabe, dieses Team zu führen und weiterzuentwickeln.
As Executive Director you are responsible for the technical, personnel, organisational and business management of the think tank foraus. Together with the board, you develop foraus strategically. You are the contact person for our partners in politics, science, business and the foundation landscape.
You use these contacts to optimally place the content of foraus and to successfully promote the forausaus fundraising. Four to 6 employees and trainees support you in Zurich and Geneva. It is your job to lead and develop this team.

Experience and skills
Als Geschäftsführer oder Geschäftsführerin verfügst du über folgende Kompetenzen und Erfahrungen:
- Führungserfahrung in Nonprofit-Management
- Erfahrung in Projektmanagement und -controlling
- unternehmerische Denkweise
- Erfahrung in Teamorganisation, Prozessoptimierung und Talententwicklung
- Erfahrung im Fundraising
- Breite Kenntnisse und Verständnis von politischen, wirtschaftlichen und gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhängen
- Interesse an Aussenpolitik und Wissenschaft
- Exzellente Deutsch- und Französischkenntnisse sind unabdingbar, sowie sehr gute Englischkenntnisse
- Breites professionelles Netzwerk in der Schweiz.
