Chatham House

Chatham House is consistently ranked as one of the world’s leading policy institutes. Based in London, with a full-time staff of over 150 and 125 Associate Fellows, it provides rigorous and independent analysis on how to build a sustainably secure, prosperous and just world.

The role

Chatham House is currently seeking a talented and highly influential thought leader to establish and run the new Hoffmann Centre on the Sustainable Resource Economy. The Centre will work at the intersection of policy, business and research to accelerate the decoupling of resource use from economic growth. To this end, it will catalyse new cross-sector, cross-border initiatives; undertake innovative research partnerships; and engage key influencers in government, business and academia. In particular, the Centre will pursue initiatives that transform the political economy of resource decoupling – building the evidence base for policymaking, supporting processes of innovation, and enabling new business models.

The successful candidate will be a visionary with the initiative, leadership qualities and management ability needed to establish and grow the Centre into a world renowned research institute. He/she will use their exemplary influencing skills and networks to establish high-impact partnerships and position the Centre at the forefront of research in this field.

This is a unique opportunity to build an important new initiative from scratch, working with a dynamic, committed and high performing team. As one of the world’s foremost think tanks, Chatham House provides an exceptional platform for the Centre, offering extensive international networks, outstanding research capabilities and global recognition.
