ECFR (The European Council on Foreign Relations) is a pan-European initiative seeking to conduct research and promote informed debate across Europe on the development of a coherent, effective and values-based European foreign policy. It has offices in Berlin, London, Madrid, Paris, Rome, Sofia and Rome.
The role
The Deputy Director Strategic Partnerships supports ECFR’s Senior Director Strategic Partnerships in ensuring ECFR’s sustainability and increasing its independence by growing its overall income, pursuing fundraising priorities, broadening ECFR’s reach by independently leading in the identification, cultivation, and ongoing engagement of strategic partners in order to achieve annual fundraising targets. Job location is Berlin.
Key roles and responsibilities
Secure and broaden ECFR’s donor base (from governments, corporates, foundations, and major donors) by conceptualizing and implementing tailored strategies for existing as well as potential new donors, with a special focus on corporations and high net worth individuals. Represent ECFR at senior level donor meetings and other related events with stakeholders including relevant grantee fora and conferences. Oversee financial reporting for a range of donors (including foundations, companies, governments, and individuals)
Experience and skills
At least 5-7 years professional experience in fundraising, ideally in an international environment. Proven experience of writing timely, cogent and compelling funding proposals, applications and presentations. Demonstrated ability to draft and compile appropriate activity budgets and expenditure reports. Experience with corporates and individuals a benefit.
Additional information
Good knowledge of German a plus.
