We develop, advocate for, and facilitate the implementation of governance mechanisms designed to ensure AI systems are safe and uphold fundamental values. Through our work, we collaborate with intergovernmental organizations, governments, companies, academic institutions, think tanks, and other civil society organizations. We are a global team that operates primarily remotely, with team members in many countries. We collaborate remotely using platforms including Zoom, Slack, and Coda, and we have in-person retreats that take place twice a year. This role has specific working hour requirements in order to overlap with the whole team, ensuring availability for meetings from 7:00am for a successful candidate on Pacific time, or until 7:30pm for a successful candidate on Central European time.

About The Athens Roundtable on Artificial Intelligence and the Rule of Law

Established in 2019 by The Future Society, The Athens Roundtable is the premier forum for international dialogue and collective action on artificial intelligence and the rule of law. Previous editions have been held under the Patronage of the Hellenic Republic and co-hosted by institutions such as the OECD, UNESCO, the World Bank, the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, IEEE, NIST-NSF Institute for Trustworthy AI in Law & Society, NYU Center on Civil Justice, Stanford HAI, the George Washington University’s Institute for International Science and Technology Policy, and more.

Most recently, The Sixth Edition of The Athens Roundtable took place on December 9, 2024, at the OECD Headquarters in Paris, France. Discussions focused on enhancing international coordination for accountability in AI governance, bringing together more than 130 high-level participants including government ministers and policymakers, civil society representatives, senior figures from the tech industry, and leaders in academia and judicial systems, as well as over 800 people online. ” The Future Society (TFS) seeks a highly organized and motivated professional to join our team as Events and Community Manager.
