Women in Informal Employment: Globalizing and Organizing (WIEGO) is looking to appoint a Finance position to their global team. WIEGO is a global network dedicated to improving the working conditions of the working poor – especially women – in the informal economy.
The role
The Finance Director post is a newly created position, responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient management of WIEGO’s financial resources and will have responsibility for all aspects of financial management and budgeting, grant management and treasury management.
Key roles and responsibilities
This role will work as part of WIEGO’s Senior Management Team (SMT) and manage WIEGO’s strong finance team of 6 people. The Finance Team has a strong track record of delivering unqualified opinions for WIEGO’s required annual independent audit and of managing the complexities of WIEGO’s finances, allowing the organisation to ensure the benefit of its work is maximised.
Experience and skills
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified finance professional with significant experience of leading successful finance teams in an international context. You will ideally have experience working with international non-profit organisations operating in locations in the global south and a firm commitment to WIEGO’s ambitions and vision.
You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to speak English to a professional standard. You will have a considered and analytical approach with the ability to think strategically with the Board of Directors.
