About the role
ECCO is seeking a senior expert with at least 5 years of professional experience in equivalent positions to lead and coordinate the financial and administrative unit of the organisation.
Key roles and responsibilities
The ideal candidate will:
- Contribute to the definition of the organisational set-up of the financial and administrative unit.
- Direct and control accounting processes, bank reconciliations, cash flow management, taxes.
- Manage the budgeting processes and the drawing up and closing of the budget in a way that complies with the tax and accounting obligations laid down by Italian law.
- Identify and implement digital processes and tools for management control.
- Direct and coordinate the preparation and processing of economic and financial reports in order to provide accurate data and analysis for decision-making in a timely manner.
- Support and facilitate the work carried out by external auditors by providing all the necessary documentation and information to ensure compliance with the relevant regulations.
- Analyse and supervise the drafting of contracts with third parties (contracting of services, supplies, etc.), with financiers and with employees in order to ensure adequate control of expenditure and in compliance with internal procedures and current legislation.
- Coordinate and supervise the development of activities relating to administrative processes and staff management, ensuring the compliance with labour, social security and tax obligations.
- Periodically analyse financial results, identify any associated risks and propose the necessary actions and measures to ensure that the organisation remains aligned with its objectives.
- Organise and maintain a healthy flow of communication within the organisation and regularly coordinate with the Senior Management Team to offer support in monitoring fundraising performance.
Experience and skills
Job Requirements
- Ability to analyse and process quantitative data accurately.
- Management of accounting and financial data.
- Strategic vision of budget utilization
- Ability to design administration with respect to the organisation’s objectives.
- Knowledge of the regulatory framework relating to the sectors in which ECCO operates.
- Management capacity of a team of at least 5 people.
- Relational and communication skills for the translation of complex information.
Profile and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or higher
- Professional experience of at least 5 years in a position of responsibility in finance and administration.
- Experience in financial management of projects in the no-profit sector
- Excellent knowledge of IT tools and innovative digital solutions.
- Proficiency in Italian. The working language in ECCO is Italian.
- Professional knowledge and use of English. Other languages are an advantage.
