At the Bernard van Leer Foundation (BvLF) we believe that giving all children a good start in life is both the right thing to do and the best way to build healthy, prosperous and creative societies.

We are a private foundation based in the Netherlands and working globally to develop and share knowledge about what works in early childhood development, through a combination of field programmes and thought leadership partnerships.

We provide financial support and expertise to partners in government, civil society and business to help test and scale effective services for young children and families.

The role

The Lead, Learning to Scale is a new role working closely with our senior management, programme and knowledge teams to capture and share what we’re learning about how to scale effective early childhood development programmes, both inside and outside the Foundation. This function is core to our strategy and impact in the coming years.

Key roles and responsibilities

  • Develop and manage projects with external partners to document, learn from and evaluate the scaling implementation partnerships led by our Programme team (60%)
  • Play a key role in driving the adoption, analysis and use of BvLF’s new internal performance monitoring process, launched last year (25%)
  • Drive the completion and sharing of BvLF’s scaling framework, including coordinating the executive education programme for scaling early childhood programmes at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government (5%)
  • Other project management and strategic contributions to the work of the Knowledge for Policy Team and the rest of the Foundation (5%)

Experience and skills

Seeking a sharp, organized senior project manager and strategic analyst with 5-10 years of relevant experience, brilliant analytical, communications, project and stakeholder management skills, and lots of curiosity and energy.
