LSE Cities is seeking to appoint a Research Officer to work on research preparations and development for the next Urban Age research programme, focusing primarily on the theme of the interface between formal and informal urban structures and services, and digital technology and needs.

Candidates should have a PhD in Geography, Urban Science, Urban Planning or a related discipline. They should be able to provide evidence of a background in, or understanding of, the research themes required of the post, in particular relate to urban development in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The ability to analyse and research complex ideas, concepts or theories and apply appropriate methodologies, alongside excellent communication skills, are essential.

  • Conditions:  Occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave and excellent training and development opportunities. This is a fixed term appointment until 31st December 2018. Start date is a.s.a.p.
  • Salary: from £34,156 to £41,317 pa inclusive, with potential progress to £44,456 pa inclusive.
