There is an increasing demand for think tanks to be transparent about their funding. Fellow think tanks, donors, the media, and the public want to know who is funding what research- are think tanks disguised lobbyists for foreign or corporate interests? Are they as independent as they claim to be from their funding sources? What is the level of influence of those providing the funds on those feeding us with research and findings? With transparency comes credibility. If there is nothing to hide, then why not let us see for ourselves? This series explores the importance of think tanks being transparent about their funds, the current trend towards transparency from both organisations and donors, and initiatives aimed at increasing transparency from research organisations.
