CGLS was established in YSU in May 2013 in the framework of a three-year USAID project in cooperation with the Arizona State University. The Center is the only academic research and educational center in Armenia. Currently CGLS provides with research and educational courses for students, professors, and members of civil society organizations. The Center is both a research hub and a collaborative platform for academia, politics and activism in Armenia and abroad. It periodically organizes workshops and conferences both for local and international audiences. The center contributes to the policy-making and academic research in all areas of studies of gender and women’s studies. The Center also actively engages local and international students and fellows into its research and other activities.
