Previously the Shalem Center. Shalem College, a private liberal arts college in Jerusalem, offers exceptional students from Israel and abroad an innovative, interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts. Modeled after the leading universities and colleges in America and Europe, which emphasize the value of a broad-based education alongside specialization in a particular field, Shalem features a four-year, Hebrew-language degree grounded in the humanities, with an additional major in Middle East and Islamic studies or philosophy and Jewish thought. Shalem College accepts just fifty students each year, all of whom have demonstrated exceptional academic and personal strengths, as well as deep commitment to their community and country. With the lowest student-faculty ratio of any university or college in Israel, as well as unprecedented scholarships and living stipends for all accepted applicants, Shalem offers students an intimate, supportive, and dynamic environment in which to pursue their intellectual interests in a focused and full-time manner.
