The Saudi AEE was established on the decision of the Ministry of Human Resources on December 17, 2020. It aims at building capabilities in energy economics and developing professional and technical abilities in the energy sector. It also seeks to advance societal knowledge of energy economics by supporting and producing related research. Given the central role that energy plays in the Saudi economy, Saudi AEE contributes to enhancing the understanding of the challenges facing the energy industry and provides a forum to debate solutions to these challenges. Saudi AEE also facilitates dialogues among the various stakeholders including relevant government entities, energy companies, universities, associations and several others.
