Omran is an independent research institution with a leading role in scientific research and knowledge-building in Syria and the region, state, and society. It strives to be a primary reference for rationalising policies and shaping strategies for decision-makers and influencers on the Syrian issue. Omran focuses on politics, development, society, the economy, and local governance, in line with the needs of structurally and functionally strengthening Syrian state institutions. This also includes adherence to the principles of the rule of law, justice, good governance, respect for human rights, the empowerment of citizens and civil society institutions, and the enhancement of democratic practices.
