NLIRI was established to adequately meet the diverse and growing needs of society in commemoration of the centennial of Nippon Life Insurance Company with a mission to fulfill the needs of basic research and formulate solutions on a broad range of issues. These issues span the domestic and international economy, from finance and industry to urban development, and the supply of services to meet minimum living standards. NLIRI believes that with the signs of major social change around today, the role of think tanks will become increasingly important.
