The Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences (CRAES) was established on December 31, 1978, in affiliation with the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) of China. CRAES also conducts a series of scientific and international cooperation activities which support the country’s overall environmental protection aims. Its missions are to develop China’s environmental science and technologies; to solve major environmental problems arising from economic and social development; to encourage international cooperation and communication concerning global environmental issues; to provide key technological support, technical integration, demonstration, promotion and transition function
