It is a comprehensive entity that integrates academic research, talent development, social services, policy advice, and think-tank building. Grounded in research on regional and area studies, political science, economics, and law, it addresses national foreign strategies and local economic needs through a multilingual, interdisciplinary team. It focuses on key issues such as country profiles, regional hotspots, global governance, and maritime affairs. It has been recognised by the China Think Tank Comprehensive Evaluation Research Project (AMI) and serves as the secretariat of the China Pacific Society Branch of Regional and Area Studies.
