RQPI was the result of a partnership between the Qatar Foundation and the RAND Corporation—a research organisation that aims to develop solutions to public policy challenges. RAND’s partnership with the Qatar Foundation regarding the operations of RQPI commenced in 2003 and ended in 2013. While RQPI was active, its research projects focused on education, healthcare, energy, security and many other issues of domestic policy.
