African Institute for Development Policy

AFIDEP
Nairobi, Malawi

AFIDEP was founded in 2010 as a non-profit research and policy institute to bridge the gaps between research, policy, and practice in Africa. AFIDEP promotes a cultural shift from low use of evidence in decision-making to a setting where policy and programme actors actively seek and routinely use evidence so that the right investments are made towards the transformation of people’s lives for the better. AFIDEP’s strategic objectives include strengthening the capacity of institutions and individuals in evidence informed decision-making (EIDM), conducting research to answer specific policy questions, and providing technical assistance in the design, implementation, and evaluation of policies and programmes aimed at accelerating the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
