The Centre for the Opening and Development of Latin America (CADAL), is a non-profit, non-partisan, private foundation with the mission to investigate, promote and support respect for civil, political and economic freedoms. It aims to promote democratic values; observe political, economic and institutional performance; and make public policy proposals that contribute to good government and people’s wellbeing. To this end, CADAL prioritizes the defense and strengthening of democracy as a pillar of socio-economic progress, and the international promotion of human rights.
