The Bartolomé de Las Casas Andean Regional Studies Centre (CBC), is a non-profit civil association born as a response to the permanent need to foster and promote the study and understanding of the Andean rural world in its socio-cultural and historical, economic and environmental dimension; a world conceived as a specific reality that must be considered in its past as well as in the present and its possibilities for the future. Through research, education and the dissemination of knowledge, the CBC is committed to marginalized people and it promotes the emergence of autonomous social actors in a democratic and intercultural society. The CBC is a nexus of encounters between cultures, disciplines and worlds.
