The Information and Studies Centre of Uruguay (CIESU) is a non-profit educational civil association, with the main objective of promoting research in social sciences to contribute to the economic and social development of Uruguay and Latin America. The work of CIESU is based on an interdisciplinary approach supported by a rigorous and systematic analysis with orientation to problem solving and identification of its causes. Through its history CIESU has had outstanding professionals whose research contributed to the analysis of key issues, promoting the exchange between regional and international institutions, and the establishment of a policy of training and improvement of human resources.
