The Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) is a non-governmental international organization with UNESCO associate status, established in 1967. CLACSO's objectives include: promoting social research to combat poverty and inequality, strengthening human rights and democratic participation. To contribute, with academic research, to promote sustainable development policies in economic, social and environmental terms. And also build bridges between social research and public policies, promoting innovative, creative and viable actions in the face of the great challenges of Latin America and the Caribbean
