The goal of the Reischauer Center is to train young leaders to manage US-Japan relations. Since its founding, the center has assisted countless graduate students in acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge to become US-Japan experts in economics, government, journalism, academia and business. This is accomplished through coursework on the region, the SAIS-Japan Forum, internships, scholarships and student participation in the annual The United States-Japan briefing book. The center's mission is to continue providing resources and access to government and business leaders, scholars and journalists from both East Asia and the United States.
