The European Stability Initiative (ESI) focuses on defending democratic institutions, human rights in Europe, and taking a stand against illiberal forces. Moreover, ESI through empirical analyses, research and advocacy, seeks to engage decision makers and politicians through articles, newsletters and position papers that will have an impact in the formulation of their policies. The main themes ESI works are: EU enlargement in the Western Balkans, migration and refugee policy, and defending the rule of law across EU member states.
