The Research Centre of the Evangelische Studiengemeinschaft e.V. (FEST) is an interdisciplinary research institute, based in Heidelberg since 1958, whose basic funding is provided by the members of the sponsoring association – the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD), the regional churches of the EKD, the German Protestant Kirchentag and the Protestant Academies – and which also finances research and consulting work through third-party funds.
