Fundación Ciudadanía y Desarrollo was founded in Ecuador in 2009 as a non-profit organisation with the aim of educating, training, and developing social, ethical, and transparent leaders to promote citizenship and its development. FCD is Transparency International’s chapter in Ecuador. FCD's mission is to promote and defend the rule of law, democracy and transparency. FCD, through research and citizen education, aims to promote and defend the rule of law, democratic principles, and individual freedom, as well as to promote citizen participation, social control, transparency, government openness, and public innovation.
