Future Matters is a Berlin-headquartered think tank and nonprofit capacity-building hub working on global catastrophic risks, founded in 2020. It conducts evidence-based policy research and builds advocacy capacity on climate protection, AI governance, and biosecurity, engaging directly with stakeholders inside and outside institutions in the US, UK, and the EU, and internationally. It prioritises high-leverage, neglected policy opportunities identified through systematic expert surveys and literature review. It also provides strategy, coordination and communications services to nonprofits, advocacy organisations, and decision-makers working on catastrophic risk reduction, having supported over 90 clients across biosecurity, AI governance, and climate protection.
