Hiroshima Peace Institute

HPI, established as a research unit in the Hiroshima City University; it engages in a variety of research activities related with peace, inspired by the city's historical experience as the first city in the world to be devastated by a nuclear weapon. HPI devotes itself to the task of contributing to the development of a peaceful local community and the realization of world peace by conducting research on nuclear disarmament, with a view to achieving the ultimate goal of completely eliminating nuclear weapons and peacefully resolving problems confronting international society.
