IVT is an analytically-oriented research and consulting institute which is conducting studies on the mobility of people and goods. It was founded in 1977 as an institute at the Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences. IVT conducts quantitative traffic research and consults on issues in mobility, transport and traffic. In October 2001, another IVT location was founded in Mannheim.
