The Institute for Social and Social Policy deals with political institutions, ideas and dynamics as well as with policy design. The Institute is particularly interested in social and distribution policies, the organization of rule, the role of organized social interests in politics, and the change and influence of political ideas. Since its inception, the Institute has pursued an interdisciplinary approach, which is expressed in research collaborations with institutions and colleagues from neighboring disciplines. In teaching and research, questions are taken up that result from changing social problems with the aim of increasing problem-solving skills in the social policy area.
