The Institute for Science and Ethics (IWE) is a central scientific institution of the University of Bonn. It conducts research in the area of the ethical foundations of medicine, natural sciences and technology. The IWE pursues an integrative research approach that combines philosophical reflection with medical and scientific expertise. The IWE carries out research projects and organizes specialist conferences and public events. In addition, the IWE promotes young researchers at all academic qualification levels and is committed to university teaching. The research results of the IWE are regularly made available in monographs, anthologies and in the yearbook for science and ethics.
