The Institute for Social Research in Zagreb, as a non-profit scientific research institution, strives for scientific quality, international recognition and acknowledgement of its scientific research and results, and to attain the status of a scientific centre of excellence in the areas of its research. The Institute’s mission is to conduct scientific research of society in a systematic, longitudinal, and interdisciplinary manner, especially the topics of social stratification, education, youth, science, religion, gender and urban/rural space. The Institute's activities include the publication of research results in books and scientific journals, participation at scientific conferences and other means of knowledge dissemination, intensive international cooperation and networking, and contribution to the development of the Croatian society by creating scientific bases for public policies.
