Institute for Development Studies, Sabah

IDS is an autonomous, nonprofit research organization established by the state government of Sabah in Malaysia and serves as a think tank to the government. IDS is guided by a fundamental objective: to promote and develop a research-based process for policy formulation and implementation. The institute's mission is to assist the state and federal governments in meeting the needs and aspirations of the people through research and analysis of development issues based on integrity, professionalism and excellence, and it aims to become a premier applied research institute in Malaysia on development issues.
