IER is a public institution under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport. It is an autonomous research organization with a long tradition in the field of macroeconomic and microeconomic analysis. The Institute for Economics, Statistics and Demography, which joined the Economic Institute to become IER, brought to the newly established institute experience in the field of international trade and sectoral structural analyses.
