Institute for European Environmental Policy

IEEP is concerned with the analysis and development of environmental and related policies in Europe. It brings a nonpartisan and analytical perspective to policy questions, engaging in both pressing short-term issues and long-term strategic studies. Focusing primarily on the EU's environmental and sustainable development policies and relevant aspects of other policies, such as agriculture and fisheries, transport, and rural and regional development, IEEP is also actively engaged in the development of policy at national levels in Europe. IEEP seeks to both raise awareness of the policies that shape the European environment and advance policy-making along sustainable paths. Undertaking research and analysis and providing consultancy and information services, IEEP works both independently and on commissioned projects. It maintains regular contact with a wide range of policy actors, its partners and audience ranging from international and European institutions to local governments, NGOs, industries, and others who contribute to the policy debate.
