Institute of Economic Growth

IEG is a multidisciplinary center for advanced research and training in economics, demography, and sociology and operates under the University of Delhi. IEG pursues empirical and theoretical research that has a bearing on policy and in relation to problems of economic development, planning, and social change. IEG's major goals are to serve as an advanced center for research and training in economics and allied subjects; establish fruitful exchanges among distinguished scholars and learned bodies in India and abroad; promote cooperative research within its own faculty and collaborative research with other institutions in India and internationally; organize training courses and hold seminars for the benefit of the social science and development communities; undertake publication and dissemination of its research studies; and conduct ad hoc investigations at the request of governments, employers' and workers' organizations, and other bodies or people interested in promoting the study of economic issues.
