Sou da Paz Institute is a non-governmental organization that has been working for 20 years to reduce levels of violence. Our mission is contributing to security and violence prevention public policies that are efficient and guided by the values of democracy and human rights. Our main areas of work are: prevention, arms control, police activity and criminal justice. Our working method includes: - Developing applied research to identify dynamics, its causes, circumstances, actors and impacts. - Creating viable and efficient solutions and advising governmental instances in their implementation. - Participating in forums where policies are developed and implemented, informing and engaging public opinion.
