Janaagraha is a Bengaluru-based not-for-profit institution dedicated to transforming the quality of life in India’s cities and towns. To achieve its mission, Janaagraha collaborates with councillors and citizens to foster active citizenship in urban neighbourhoods, and with governments to implement reforms in city systems. Over the past two decades, Janaagraha has worked on urban policy and governance reforms, including contributions to the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM), and engagements with the XIII, XIV, and XV Finance Commissions, the Second Administrative Reforms Commission, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, NITI Aayog (formerly the Planning Commission), the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), as well as the state governments of Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Assam.
