PRAKARSA is a think and do tank that was established in August 2004 in Indonesia. Its mandate is to contribute to the development of a democratic, fair and prosperous society in Indonesia. It seeks to align these ideals with socio-economic justice and welfare via knowledge production and dissemination and promoting innovative ideas for better policies. PRAKARSA engages in producing and promoting welfare policy discourse; conducting research and advocacy in social policy; conducting capacity-building initiatives for stakeholders; and developing networks between think tanks, CSOs and the private sector for policy reforms. PRAKARSA's main research themes are social policy, fiscal policy and sustainable development.
