SJRI was established by a Japanese insurance company in view of the changing business environment arising from ongoing financial deregulation and globalization to which the insurance industry is required to adjust. SJRI places emphasis on fundamental research and studies on insurance and other related issues. Its main areas of focus are international insurance markets; the healthcare business; social security analysis; and financial and economic issues.
