Varða is an independent Icelandic think tank on national security, defence and resilience. Founded in September 2025 as a sjálfseignarstofnun (independent, non-profit foundation) based in Reykjavík, it works to strengthen Iceland's national security and societal resilience. It publishes research, analysis and a journal, Tímarit Vörðu um þjóðaröryggi (ISSN 3119-0405, https://timarit.varda.org). Note: It is not the labour-market institute Varða (rannvinn.is, kt 690322-0720).
