An academic background at postgraduate level, relevant to the region, would be highly advantageous. The individual would be expected to make a significant contribution to the development of the Institute\u2019s portfolio of research in the region, represent the institute in London and abroad on East Asian affairs, as well as help manage a number of complicated and substantial China related projects that are already underway.
