The Centre for London is looking for a senior events officer.<\/p>\n<h2>Key roles and responsibilities<\/h2>\n<p>Events delivery<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate the design, coordination and production of major conferences and other<br \/>\nevents \u2013 including developing funding proposals, shaping on-stage content, securing<br \/>\nspeakers, creating guest lists, scouting and securing venues, meeting with funders,<br \/>\ncomposing invitations (in Mailchimp) and administering responses (in Salesforce).<\/li>\n<li>Lead delivery of the smooth running of events including event logistics.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with speakers, sponsors, venues, stakeholders and contractors.<\/li>\n<li>Compose copy for the website, briefings and social media.<\/li>\n<li>Work with the communication team to coordinate media involvement and marketing\/promotion<br \/>\nof events.<\/li>\n<li>Recruit and train events staff.<\/li>\n<li>Develop new ideas for Centre for London\u2019s events programme, and bring them to life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Development and Fundraising<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with the development team to ensure the smooth delivery of sponsor benefits and<br \/>\ncommunicate regularly with sponsors.<\/li>\n<li>Work with others to develop and fundraise for the events programme including researching<br \/>\nsponsors, speakers and exhibitors, developing ideas for events and preparing fundraising<br \/>\nproposals.<\/li>\n<li>Proactively research and identify suitable organisations interested in the Centre\u2019s work through<br \/>\nincisive prospect research and helping to formulate and deliver strategies for engagement.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and improve CRM Salesforce through adding new contacts, data cleaning, coding<br \/>\ncontacts for relationship management and proactively suggesting improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to impact reports for funders and assist in the production of the annual report.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>General Responsibilities and Duties<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct the duties of the job description in accordance with the operational policies of Centre<br \/>\nfor London, including but not limited to the diversity policy and code of conduct<\/li>\n<li>Maintain good working relations with trustees, staff, volunteers and other stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Present the organisation in an appropriate and professional manner to its stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the development and growth of the organisation through working in accordance<br \/>\nwith its wider objectives, corporate philosophy and values.<\/li>\n<li>Assist at Centre for London events outside of normal working hours as necessary<\/li>\n<li>Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Experience and skills<\/h2>\n<p>Person Specification<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants be passionate about London and must show commitment to the mission of Centre for<br \/>\nLondon; to develop new develop new solutions to London\u2019s critical challenges and advocate for a fair<br \/>\nand prosperous global city.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Experience<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience running conferences and\/or large events with significant experiences delivering<br \/>\nevents logistics including venue selection and booking, working to budgets, managing catering,<br \/>\nAV and event staff.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with stakeholders to collaboratively plan event content, including<br \/>\ndetermining key questions and selecting speakers<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a variety of contexts, e.g. composing event<br \/>\ncopy and speaker invitation letters, preparing event briefs, speaking with prospective<br \/>\nand existing funders.<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing relationships and communicating with funders, VIPs or stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in fundraising, particularly from corporates, an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Awareness of London policy, networks and government, and how to effect change in policy<br \/>\nmaking and practice an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Alternatively, relevant experience in a related field<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Competencies and attributes<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Highly organised. Creating clear plans and managing delivery challenges. Able to balance<br \/>\nand prioritise multiple tasks, often to urgent and competing deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent attention to detail. Accurately record, recall and execute details such as sponsor<br \/>\nrequests, names and titles of key stakeholders, venue requirements and other details.<\/li>\n<li>Professional and confident communication skills (written and verbal). Able to liaise with<br \/>\nsenior people (e.g. speakers, chairs, sponsors) and sharing creative ideas.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent customer service skills and ability to assist with high level event attendees and<br \/>\nstakeholders, anticipating their needs.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to adapt and learn quickly.
