The Center for Universal Education (CUE), founded in 2002 as part of the Global Economy and Development program, is one of the leading policy centers focused on universal quality education across the world. This position offers a unique combination of innovative finance with global education policy, Be at the forefront of research on results-based financing to improve the lives of individuals across the globe.<\/p>\n<h2>Key roles and responsibilities<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>A research analyst in this program supports scholars by providing research, writing, data and statistical analysis related to policies and trends affecting developing countries.<\/li>\n<li>She\/he is expected to perform analysis with limited supervision, deliver high quality output in a timely manner, participate in the development, dissemination and presentation of research findings; assist in the organization of meetings and events; and provide administrative assistance as needed.<\/li>\n<li>The work will have a strong focus on results-based financing including mechanisms such as social and development impact bonds.<\/li>\n<li>The research will place impact financing as one part of the larger picture of financing options for development challenges, including domestic and international aid, which will remain a crucial part of the entire financing pool.<\/li>\n<li>While there will be some sectoral breadth, the work will mainly center on education and early childhood development (ECD) and the challenges to achieving equitable access at scale in those sectors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Experience and skills<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree required, Master\u2019s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Education Policy or International Development or its equivalent preferred. Strong analytical and communication skills, strong work ethic. Demonstrated curiosity to learn and a passion for policy-based research in the area of development.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of two years of related work experience required (preferably in international development or global education policy). Strong academic record. Experience with empirical research preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with governmental, NGOs, and bilateral or multilateral organizations, and understanding of international development issues preferred.<\/li>\n<li>To be considered for a Senior Research Analyst position, candidates must possess a Master\u2019s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Education Policy or International Development or its equivalent, with a minimum of three years of professional work experience.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge in the field of human development (education, health or social protection or early childhood development) with an understanding of critical challenges faced by low and low-middle income countries.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with the recent global research including modalities for innovative financing and delivering of development programs; and the current global landscape of impact investing and results-based financing.<\/li>\n<li>The candidate will also have some familiarity with the overall global development architecture, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Education for All (EFA).<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of international economics, development, and education required.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the early childhood development literature and key policy questions related to ECD a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Superior research skills coupled with excellent oral and written communication skills required.<\/li>\n<li>Strong computer skills, particularly in developing professional-level presentations using Microsoft<\/li>\n<li>PowerPoint and Prezi, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of quantitative data analysis, SAS, STATA, and related econometric packages a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of APA citation guidelines a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational skill and excellent attention to detail.<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal skills, creativity, flexibility, discretion, poise, and mature judgment; ability to work independently and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced, high volume work environment.<\/li>\n<li>Team player and fast learner preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Other useful information<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>What can we offer you?
