Data visualisation competition for think tanks

22 July 2013

Ways of communicating research are changing. New technology has led to great advances in how people access information, but also in how people can present research in a visually engaging format.

As such, On Think Tanks is pleased to announce the first data visualisation competition for think tanks in developing countries sponsored by the Think Tank Fund of the Open Society Foundations. The competition aims to encourage these think tanks to explore alternative methods for communicating research and to promote the development of the skills required to produce them.

The competition will run three rounds plus a final, and will run from July 2013 – January 2014. Each round will combine public voting with a final selection from an expert judging panel.

Find out more about the competition — including the judges and prizes, the eligibility requirements, and how to submit entries by reading our frequently asked questions.

We hope this will be the first of many other competitions that encourage think tanks to try new ways of working (not just communicating). The competition’s page will also feature regular posts and Data Visualisation Resources so do keep up with updates.

We are sure you can do better than a few cards on the wall -or can you?
